We crashed our clients canteen with some guys and a ukulele.
Recently, we had a little fun, planning a surprise for our client, ResQ, a contact center that helps businesses connect with their customers. With the help of local band, Bud Sugar, we gatecrashed the staff canteen and hosted a pop-up gig in which Bud Sugar performed their new single to the unaware ResQ team, including directors and team leaders.
Before Bud Sugar were due to perform, Jody Moore, Head of Video Production at yesyesBD, snuck into ResQ and strategically placed one of two GoPro cameras in the ResQ canteen, the other was attached to the guitar of Bud Sugars frontman, Bax. The stage was set, all we had to do now was wait for Bud Sugar to do their thing…. and as planned Bud Sugar entered the canteen at around 1.30pm, peak lunch time. You can see the fun as it unfolded in the video below;
Jody managed to gain excellent footage from the GoPros, as well as two Nikon DLSRs one of which was attached to a glidecam, to capture all the action as Bud Sugar entered the canteen. This marks the start of a selection of experiential stunts by yesyesBD that will be running in the near future, as we aim to show the importance of virality in social media marketing and the resultant growth.
The Bud Sugar stunt managed to increase engagement on ResQ social media profiles by a gigantic 1200%, reaching new audiences and re-engaging followers who had become non-active.
